It is a very steep walk up the hill to the main road where there are several restaurants, coffee shop, and supermarket. "I stayed here with a large group for a family reunion. We had 5 rooms in total (the suites by the pool) and they were all clean and met our expectations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We saw lots of creatures, just sitting poolside, with plenty of entertainment for the kiddos with the pool. Morning breakfasts were fantastic. "We had a small family reunion and Cala Lodge was amazing. This was our daughters’ first time in Monteverde. They were treated like family and felt the warm Pura Vida welcome at all times. "Our stay at La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio was absolutely incredible! The views from our room were nothing short of astonishing—waking up to the ocean and ending the day with the most beautiful sunsets was pure magic. "This town has really changed for the better! There's a great restaurant a few blocks away called Baru I think it was... Sanchez was also good, and there's a place to have your laundry done about a block away, Sanchez hostle. "We loved our stay in Luxury Standard Room 209 at Tulemar. We saw squirrel monkeys daily from our balcony, and toucans, sloths, scarlet macaws, leaf-cutter ants, frogs, bats, and iguanas on the grounds also. The private beach was never crowded, and we appreciated the complimentary umbrellas and chairs, as well as the ability to order food and drinks from Tule Cafe while on the beach. "Only one problem - no water in room to wash with- the water completely shut down twice. Once in the morning in middle of showers. The response was quick and fixed both times but no one likes soap in their eyes they can’t wash out. They only gave us a small discount off extras for the inconvenience which should have been a bit more. None the less we would definitely return and recommend because everything else was wonderful. The property is beautiful! "

"I had a really nice stay here. The room was clean and secure, the wifi, air conditioning, shower, all worked great. The staff was super- friendly and helpful. They were patient with my awful Spanish and were able to switch to English when needed. Even the restaurant had good food. Not a luxery resort, but perfectably servicable at a good price. Puntarenas isn't the "nicest" town per se but it is interesting and authentic and this hotel is very good."

"We really liked this hotel. The location was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean but the bathrooms were a little tight for space. They brag about their coffee and for good reason - it was delicious - especially the Americano con leche. We did find the water to be intermittently hot in the showers and when the hotel had more guests it was a little louder. We would recommend. "

A enjoyable / relaxing stay at the Oceano in Jaco.

"A wonderful and relaxing stay at Oceano. I was there for 5 nights and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Jaco. The accommodation was beautiful. The apartment allocated was spacious, quiet, very comfortable and cleaned every day. The food in the hotel (breakfast and in the evening) was first class. I used the pool area and gym each day and both were very good. The pool area was very relaxing. The hotel had a very relaxed feel about it. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly, helpful and professional. The reception staff were able to arrange tours of the local area. The accommodation is about 10 mins walk to the beach which was fine. There were plenty of restaurants / bars shops within 5 mins walk of the hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Jaco. "

"We had an amazing stay at Camino Verde B & B in Monteverde! The staff truly made our experience unforgettable—they were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with booking activities and arranging transportation around the area. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile made everything so easy and stress-free. The location was also great, just a five-minute walk from the town center, making it convenient to explore local restaurants and shops. The only minor downside was that parking is in a separate area from the hotel, but it wasn’t a huge issue for us. Overall, this hotel was a fantastic home base for our Monteverde adventure, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding service!"

"Although we only stayed one night we had a great stay! We arrived early but were able to spend the day at the pool before our room was ready. We were in the premium zone and the restaurant exclusive to us was excellent! View of the beach, good food and superb service. Our room was clean and spacious and very quiet. Was a terrific place to stay before we took the ferry the next day."

"We booked a 2 night stay. Our initial reception was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and gave lots of information about the resort. We were escorted to our room and the luggage taken for us. The features were clearly explained. At all times the staff were very courteous & couldn’t do enough to help. We had dinner both evenings which, again, was excellent. The location is fantastic with amazing views. All in all, the best experience we had in Costa Rica. "
