"This guesthouse surprised us with a Hostel sign out front but our room was hotel style. Breakfast was good, everything was fresh. Staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was tight but good enough for us. Street parking is also available closer to the monastery. The monastery and the downtown was a short 5 minute walk. Location would be hard to beat. I always ask myself and travel companions, “would we stay here again?” Yes."

"We had a bit of a problem when we arrived. First, the property address was not entirely correct and our Google Maps and Apple Maps took us to a place about a half mile from the property. We did not have a phone number for Joachim and when we called Homeaway, they couldn't locate him immediately. We found the property on our own by cruising the neighborhood, but had no way to get in. "This property is huge and is in an excellent location for exploring this region of Portugal. The views from this villa are just breathtaking and you would never get tired of them. A car is a must as it is located at the edge of a quiet hilltop village but there is lots to see and do within short driving distance in any direction. The mature gardens of the villa are lovely to relax in on an evening or morning and the indoor swimming pool was used a lot while we were there, it was great. If we had...
