"My husband and I stayed at this property for a weekend visit, in March 25. The breakfasts were great in the mornings! On our first night we had food at the hotel, the menu choice was very poor, and very expensive, also the atmosphere in the dining area was dreadful. It felt like a café. It might have been more relaxing to lower the lights and put some music on in the background. Also the tables were not dressed with cloths and candles. It was not relaxing! "This hotel was magnificent. The building, room, grounds, staff and food. I had booked Staindrop Lodge which was disgusting. I checked out within half an hour and booked Whitley Hall which was amazing. I contacted HOTELS.COM for a refund for Staindrop Lodge but they called the Manager and unbelievably took his word and refused me a refund. Wont be using HOTELS.COM again. "

"Great rooms. Exactly what we needed. Staff are very friendly and locals were too. Rooms were very clean and good size. Beds were comfy and easy access direct to car park from 1st floor, made it easy with our dogs. Fox Valley Shopping Park was 5-10 minutes walk and had some nice places for breakfast and dinner. Will definitely use this as a base again, when bringing our dogs to the moors. "
