"Wonderful country house hotel in about 200 acres of stunning grounds. Lots of outdoorsy things to do. The sitting rooms are glorious with open fires and the staff are attentive and there are lots of little touches that make the hotel stand out. The food is excellent, eat in the Great Western Restaurant if you can. Breakfast excellent. "

The kids absolutely loved feeding the farm animals every morning (so did we!) it was such a fun way to start the day and definitely made the stay extra special. "A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!"

"Recommend parking in Magdalen Street car park (by the Mecure Hotel) free parking from 6 pm to 8 am (alternative parking in St Mary Arches was expensive). I was surprised at the large number of apparent homeless people gathering in Cathedral Yard right outside of the apartment, quite loud and drinking from first thing in the morning until very late at night and begging for money as you enter end leave the apartment.
