"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. "It’s a lovely cottage, spacious and homely, on a farm with view of fields, hills and sheep. It’s in a good location for visiting all the local historic areas. Hadrian’s wall, the Roman museums etc we even drove to Edinburgh on one of the days. "

"This proved to be one of the superior B&Bs we have ever used. Apart from the comfort and cleanliness we discovered two small brownies and two KitKats on the tea tray.
