Unfortunately for us, we felt the room was noisy and we could hear other guests walking in the corridors and the rooms either side and above us. The bed was also very creaky. "We booked about 30 minutes before arrival. Then were very happy to be given an upgrade. Receptionist was very helpful and loaded with or persuaded the restaurant to let us book in for 8.45. Very busy for a Tuesday night. The upgraded room could have been lovely but unfortunately had a very strong smell of smoke. We also noticed many marks up the walls. Still a comfortable room though. "

"Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Really like the bath and shower set -up (you'll know what I mean when you see it). Breakfast was tasty and staff well organised. Staff, generally, very polite. We had to wait 40 minutes for our room to be ready even though we arrived at 15:00. Rooms are not well sign-posted and require a bit of finding. Leisure centre, particularly the pool, requires some up-grading. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would go back, which says a lot."

"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around.
