"Great location. Handy for the station and about 10-15 minutes walk into the City Centre Noisy in the morning with the cleaning staff calling to eachother, doors banging, etc. 9.00am on a Sunday felt way too early to be listening to all that. NB I thought I had chosen a room with a bath - apparently you have to specify that as a "special request" 🙄 "

"Just a one night stop over. Room alot smaller than looked on website , cramped in comparison to other hotels have used Poor outlook , just luck of the draw i guess with that Limited wardeobe space Shower leaked badly from corner and flooded bathroom Bed lovely and big and comfy The hotel itself lovely but not impressed with room , would not stop again due to this sadly "

"Easy to find, on site carpark, friendly receptionist. Good sized room and Grandaughter loved the made up double sofa bed. Selection of drinks but only decaf in coffee pods. Only one biscuit for 3 of us was a little disappointing. Plenty of room in bed for 2. Good size bathroom and separate shower, nice smelling products available. Good choice for breakfast following peaceful nights sleep in quiet surroundings."

Former station at Edwinstowe, 1995. View NE, towards Lincoln: ex-GCR (formerly Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway) Chesterfield - Shirebrook North - Lincoln line, joined at Clipstone Junction (a mile or so west) by the ex-GCR Mansfield Railway, which in turn joined the GCR Sheffield - Nottingham main line at Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Edwinstowe station closed to passengers with services on the Mansfield line from 2/1/56 (goods 4/1/65), although that line remained open for through Excursion trains and for freight. The LD&EC was closed Chesterfield - Shirebrook from 4/12/51, on to Lincoln from 19/9/55 for passengers, but Shirebrook - Clifton-on-Trent remained in use for merry-go-round coal trains until 2003.
