There was a major incident in central Amsterdam the day we travelled and we had some trouble getting to the hotel as there were no trams. For the 3 nights we were there, one night there was a fire alarm that kept going off, it was a false alarm of course but it was difficult to fall asleep again once woke up by the alarm.
