The building is very old and reached over an old stone bridge or the beck (stream) Parking is available and the room was nicely furnished with views of the water and a very comfy bed. "This is a relaxed small hotel - a bit like a guest house / hotel with good dining and bar for locals. Sawley is very convenient for Fountains Abbey but isolated - a car is essential. The Spanish chef was very good, as was the room andvthe staff attentive "

"Amazing location. Clean and comfy room. Fridge on landing where we could keep fresh dog food and milk, they can be noisy in the room so great idea. Needs to update to a decent coffee machine if the sign outside says ‘coffee house’. Only filter served and not very nice. Some really lovely, friendly staff. Would definitely come back. 9/10"

"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."
