"I would definitely stay at Hotel Montestella again. It is centrally located in Salerno in that if you walk in one direction, you reach the "Old town" with the restaurants and shops, Cathedral and beach part in 10-15 minutes and if you walk in the other direction, you reach the train station in 8 minutes. "HR residence is at a very convenient location, close to the duomo and easy access to the Luna Russo parking garage (ā‚¬40/day). Itā€™s also next to the ferry and bus stations, and close to the beach. Our room had partial sea view through the balcony. It was nothing to write home about unless you have never seen the ocean. But the Mountain View and the villas in Ravello are astonishing. Itā€™s also an easy 30 min drive. From Positano. We visited in late October so everything is quieter and enjoyable....
