"We booked the family room and it was spacious and nicely decorated, the only negative was that it felt very cold in the bathroom area. Mary was very attentive and helped us checking in and taking care of all our requests. It is a beautiful historic property and I would definitely recommend it to others traveling and visiting students at Harlaxton Manor."

"Never again! When I arrived they had no record of my booking, even though I showed them the booking confirmation. After almost an hour they agreed to give me a room. When we were in the room it was freezing, it was -2 in the room, we tried the heating but it didn’t work. Asked reception to move us but they said they didn’t have any other rooms made up. We left at 6am because we couldn’t stand the cold."

"I only stayed one night & didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment on the food. Check in & out was quick & efficient & the staff were very friendly. Room was on the small side but adequate. Bathroom was clean, modern & included a bath. I would definitely stay here again. "

"Mainly very good rooms, comfortable and clea. However, they are currently refurbishing the corridors which badly need it, so one side of hotel has scaffolding attached. Very polite lady on reception and good value breakfast."

"I stayed here for two nights with my husband on our way down south. He is from the area and wanted to see Rutland Water. We visited various parts of the reservoir and really enjoyed seeing the area around. The hotel was also walkable distance from the museum so it was good to be able to visit that, especially when it started to rain. "We were in room six (I think), on the ground floor in the car park. It was a little noisy as the floorboards were very squeaky and there was a room above us. Also, there were no windows you could open and I like some fresh air. Finally on the downside, the bathroom door was very ill-fitting so was tricky to close and was in no way sound proof...
