"We had to change our plans due to the strike of public transportation on the day we were supposed to travel and needed to stay an extra night in Cortona. We were fortunate to find this hotel on short notice and the staff was very accommodating. We were allowed to check into the room in the morning. Breakfast the next day was delicious. Friendly staff! Definitely recommend this hotel! "

"This was probably one of the highlights of a two-week trip to France and Italy. The property is amazingly beautiful, the views outstanding, the staff amazing and the owner great! Would not have changed a thing. We loved our room, it was exactly what you would expect from a previous olive oil mill, the stone walls, the flooring. Everything was amazing."

"We stayed at hotel La Vela while attending a wedding nearby. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself. It was in an excellent location within the town, on a quiet street a couple of minutes walk from the historic center & lake. Rooms were clean with a balcony & nice bathroom & beds very comfortable. "Easy check in- they left the key on the counter for us even though we got there by 8pm. Casual approach. The next day we gave her our passport info and it was all very laid back. We had booked twin beds but we’re given a double bed, so that was unfortunate but there was no one there to ask for a change so we just had to share. It was clean and comfortable. "

"Nice clean place for an overnighter. Also very close to the medieval town of Montone (walking distance) which is wonderful. Overall it was an average stay for us, but we are very picky people and enjoy unique properties. Bed was comfortable, room was sparkling clean, and the AC was firing on all cylinders!"
