"Impressive architectural features. Stained glass windows and marble walls and floors in the public areas. The guest rooms need some refurbishment and the bathrooms need modernising, but the hotel ambience and excellent service provided by the staff made our stay very enjoyable."

"A nice hotel in a convenient location for Keswick. We had a deluxe room. Some of the furniture looked a bit tired but overall ok. A little concerned over how the full length sash window opened from floor level - no 'security' to prevent things falling out, especially children. We had DB&B deal. Quality of evening meal was good but felt it was served up without any breathing space between courses. For the price, felt breakfast should have been freshly cooked rather than buffet style....

"Much better room than you would expect for a 2 star property; everything is a good size, the bed is decent (firm mattress). Lift broke down which wasn't ideal as I'm disabled."

"Lovely and clean, reception very helpful. Only issue was vans parked in the disabled bays. Both myself and my Husband have blue badges but each time we stay here there are vans in the disabled bays with no blue badges."

"Nice hotel. Staff were really pleasant. Nice bar and garden. Rooms ok. No problems. I would say decoration needed. Down side. Restaurant was quite limited considering nothing around. Set menu, cant eat in bar. Generally no problems"
