"heb afgesproken met vrienden voor eten en drinken in Alkmaar en woon zelf ver weg. Dus 1 nacht verbleven. Dat is prima gegaan. Leuk is dat je nog duidelijk sporen ziet van de vorige bestemming van het gebouw. (Gevangenis) Alkmaar is trouwens ook wel een mooie stad om te bezoeken met traditionele panden en grachtjes."

"We loved the location of this place. Walking distance to everything and easy to get to public transit when not. There is great park/lawn area to sit out and enjoy. The restaurant and bar got a bit loud on the Friday/Saturday night but we did not hear any of it from our room. The room was comfortable but the temperature was a bit hard to control. All in all it was a great experience!"

"Fantastic staff, rooms comfy with bottle of water replaced daily. Breakfast excellent so much choice from smoothies, yogurts, waffles, pastries, and cooked foods. Pizzas cooked in the evening and a well stocked bar with nibbles & drinks. Although 3 tram stops away from central station was easy to negotiate with the gvb travel card bought in the UK. Very knowledgeable staff especially Karolina who helped with our travel queries and lovely lady who assisted with breakfast Marchui each day. "

"Lovely different hotel. A bit confusing as you walk in because the fake reception has a female mannequin but the building has a lot of character. The breakfast is ok. Didn’t use the spa and the village is absolutely lovely and only a 20ish mins bus ride into Amsterdam "
