"We stayed at the 'cottage' part of the hotel (converted garage at the back of the main building) which was perfectly fine once we found it - we checked in after the reception closed and the directions were not 100% clear. We phoned the night guard who was very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean enough, apart from some random cardboard left in the bin. The shower was not particularly intuitive but perfectly fine once we got it to work. There was a complicated- looking and clearly broken...

"The staff here was outstanding especially the ladies on reception and the waitress at breakfast- awesome!!! The area is great loved the lift to the beach and the walk down to the Chine. Had a lovely two day’s sightseeing. My room was somewhat rundown but very clean. The TV has issues but not a deal breaker. Breakfast was great .Did not use pool or sauna. For the price good value."

"Not a fancy place, but fine if all you need is a place to sleep. Staff was absolutely wonderful. The place is well maintained and clean; in fact I'd say the paint was recent and the bathroom had been renovated fairly recently. About a 10 minute walk to Portsmouth's many waterfront attractions. Also, there's a Tesco Express nearby for snacks, etc. There's what appears to be a nice restaurant next door, although we didn't try it. There's three parking places behind the inn for an extra 15 pounds...
