"We stayed in one of the Kabira bungalows and really liked it. It was bigger than expected, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Beautiful location and beach. The main hotel itself and the common areas are very dated. We never ate at the hotel restaurant (overpriced). "

"My husband and I had an absolutu fantastic stay here for 3 nights - it's the perfect base to explore the island while being located close to Ishigaki centre for great food options and amenities. The swimming pool was a fantastic length to do laps in, and the buffet breakfast was delicious with lots of western and Asian options. Our room was spotless with a beautiful view over the ocean. We will definitely be coming back to stay again! "

"The hotel is located in a little village with just a few restaurants, but the next little town over has a little grocery store and a few more restaurants. The hotel itself has a restaurant and it was quite good and quite a good portion. The staff are wonderful and the owner speaks English! He was so very helpful, helping us get reservations, plan excursions and rent a car, such a nice and helpful fellow. "Spacious rooms, well equipped, though the rest of the hotel is bereft of any amenities, but never mind. We learned to appreciate the place. A bit remote for those without a car, but we managed to enjoy with the help of the bus timetable. Very friendly small team of staff who try their best to make up for shortcomings of the place. Breakfast was charged as an extra, but it was nice and worth it. As said, the room is vast and comfy and there's a little pantry in it, but we wish the little backyard...

"Booked with breakfast, but because I was the only person staying in the hotel, they gave me a stupid excuse that they can not serve breakfast. Just tell me the truth, people are not stupid... and I can understand. One of the main reasons I booked this property is because they have a big jacuzzi on the outside of the room, in the garden. Unfortunately, it was so dirty and unusable. I do not understand why they did not clean it. Weather was mostly nice at 22 c. and I would have loved to use it....

"Its a little secluded hotel with 10 rooms tucked in the hills of Ishigaki. The staff were great and check in was easy. The animals on site were cute, but the parrot's day cage is too small. The room was huge and had great amenities if you wanted to cook a small meal. The balcony was large and had a view of the ocean. We'll definitely stay here again."

"Very calm and peaceful designed in a lovely way. Good breakfasts in the morning. Tomoko and her team did a great job of looking after me whilst there and going the extra mile to make me feel more at home and understand the island. You will probably need a car to cruise around the island although no entirely necessary , just a lot more convenient."

"Totally enjoyed this property. Beautiful view of the water. The terrace doors open completely to enhance the indoor-outdoor view. Great for sunset. BBQ and charcoal is provided. Location is great. Only a short drive to a supermarket and in a quiet location. A couple of cafes within walking distance. Very close to Fusaki Beach, which you can access by walking through the lobby of the resort. Also just past the lighthouse is a pretty secluded beach."

"Room very small, JPY 22,400 for 2 with b.f is very overpriced. Without a car you are stuck, b.f only served until 8:00 AM. Dinner only available upon reservation until 7:00 PM and costs JPY 4,000 per person which makes your stay very expensive, if you have no rental car to go out and you have to order meals at the hotel. Pool is small but nice but beach is full of litter and as a pebble beach not very attractive for a swim. If you want to have it very quiet, it's great as there is nothing around...

"I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iriomote. There's lots of space on the property, including a massive bathroom and a huge terrace, with a sea view where you can see the stars at night. There's also lots of wildlife that can be easily seen from many areas on the property, for example frogs and coconut crabs. It's extremely peaceful, with only two rooms (and the other was unoccupied when we stayed) The breakfast each morning is small but delicious, and they take...

"First os all, we would like to apologize for such a delay in rating the Sukabura Inn, especially since we had a wonderful experience. The owner, Hiro, was attentive, helpful and cooked a superb breakfast (Japanese and Western!). We had good bikes to ride around the island, and the inn was at a very quiet part of the already peacful island, so we could hang out at the porch just listening to the wind and birds. The excellent bathroom was always clean, as was the room, which had effective A/C lots...

A lovely quiet stay

"The hotel is located in a little village with just a few restaurants, but the next little town over has a little grocery store and a few more restaurants. The hotel itself has a restaurant and it was quite good and quite a good portion. The staff are wonderful and the owner speaks English! He was so very helpful, helping us get reservations, plan excursions and rent a car, such a nice and helpful fellow. It is also on a lovely beach on a calm protected bay and the sunsets and night sky are wonderful, as is the quiet!"
