"Pros -Very convenient location near Utrecht central train station, inside a big shopping mall, right next to the old town, everything is reachable in steps away distance. -Hotel is very clean, friendly staff, breakfast is better than some hotels we've seen elsewhere. Cons -no mini-fridge in the room -room is smaller than you would expect from the pictures"

"Overall the hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is worthwhile. Proximity to the old quarter is decent, but having a bike definitely helps. Service was slower than it should be - we waited over an hour for a sandwich and salad the first day. On another day our room did not get made up until after 6:00 p.m. and only after I asked at reception. They claimed it was because we had the DND sign on the door, but that was only for 15 minutes to avoid being surprised...

"Like many such NH hotels, it is based in a old, venerable renovated building, but with all the unique external features kept as they were. Try to get a room with a balcony, since the life in the square outside is always worth sitting and watching, and often entertaining (if you are travelling alone, I recommend Room 107...)."

"Hotel Zies is an absolute gem and was one of the nicest hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. Everything about the room was elegantly. And tastefully appointed and the service from the housekeeping team was first rate! Area surrounding is the museum quarter, very beautiful and a quick 10 min walk to just about any of the scores of wonderful restaurants Utrecht has to offer.
