"It’s a old ryokan passed it prime time. It’s basically not bad, but is old and run down. Maybe the Covid period made it worse as the condition of the ryokan deteriorated further without upgrades. Service is good. Far away from city center but there’s shuttle bus."

"When booking, no choice for smoking or nonsmoking, so I assumed default as nonsmoking. When arrived, I realized that all are smoking. Front desk staff do not speak even simply English. Difficult to communicate with Hotel staff. Carpet in elevator must haven’t been shampooed for attended time - the dirtiest one I personally experienced in Japan.
