"It was good. The room was spacious and the service we got from the staff pre and at check-in are flawless. It can be a bit of a challenge to get to the hotel from JR Kumamoto station with luggage as the tram is always full of people the station. But I really like the fact that it's close to the shotengai area and there are a lot of shops, restaurants and game centres around. "

"After missing the last bus and a 30+ minute walk from the station, relaxing a hotel never felt so good. In terms of design, it looked like an older hotel. It was clean and suited my needs. I booked a non-smoking room and the staff did their best to get rid of the smoke smell. However, it was still there after my last night but it didn’t bother me. "

"Loved this property. It’s set in such a beautiful location. We choose a room with a private onsen, set on a balcony overlooking the mountain. "We are from US. This hotel’s room is simple but it has everything you need and it is very clean! I have stayed in higher star hotels in US and we don’t get the cleanliness and service and we still tipped even when the service at the US hotel was non existent. In Japan, no tipping and we get great service. The free breakfast at Comfort Hotel was good too. "
