"A very unique one night only experience. The property is immaculate. The dinner was a wonderful tasting of many things I had never tried, all very good and filling. Breakfast was not as good. "Staying in Eko-in is an experience not to be missed. Our room was amazing, in the annex building, which felt brand new. The night cemetery tour has been the highlight of our Japan trip and the morning prayer and fire ritual were also great. Food was amazing and plentiful although Japanese breakfast wasn't a hit for us. We bought some pastries from Family Mart to have as backup, which came in handy. Free parking is provided too. The monks were all very welcoming and spoke good English."

But they are unread pleasant and helpful, especially when speaking slower in Japanese for foreign tourists and offering helpful tips, like locations of stations and nearby convenient stores.
