"Our room was comfortable for 2 adults and 3 children. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. The hotel seams a little dated, could use some upgrades. We were on a weeklong ski trip and this was only one of our stops, so we had to bring in a lot of items that we would need later due to the extremely cold temps. Although they have hand carts, the rooms are not all on the same level, so we had to stop and carry items to our room. Just an inconvenience. Overall We liked it."

"We enjoyed 2 days at this lovely, vintage, lodge. If you like history, antiques, and God's beautiful creation, LOOK no more - THIS is where you want to be. There are 2 very lovely porches to enjoy your book or simply listen to the Au Sable & birds and a few steps down to the river for fishing. Great dining opportunities are close or up to 20 minutes away. We plan to stay here again!!"

"This is our second time staying here. First time since the remodel and we thought it was a really nice upgrade! The room could use hooks to hang coats, but that's minor. We would stay again!"

"Alan and Louise were fantastic hosts. I emailed Alan right after booking this rental property, asking about possibly getting an earlier check-in time than 3 pm. I explained that we were coming from 6 hours away to play in the Cherry Capital Showdown Softball tournament in Traverse City, and we had to be at the fields by 4pm to be ready to play by 5:30 pm. He agreed and gave us a 1pm check-in time. On our way up to the house I received a phone call from Alan, making sure we were still coming....
