"Staying for access to university visit. Twin room was basic but very clean. Room was a bit cold but that may have been me being a bit under the weather. Bathroom was small but well formed. No toilet brush was odd but otherwise fine. Walls are paper thin. Quiet conversations are easily audible. Restaurant good. Breakfast was excellent. Excellent value for money "

"Ive had some fun of late finding hotels to stop at that are off the beaten track so to speak. As much as a Travelodge is useful they are generally quite soulless. And once every now and then you come across a complete gem. The Marine Hotel is one of those. The place itself is absolutely lovely, situated nicely on the beachfront in Hartlepool, its old school but full of character. "Looked after extremely well. Not certain about the lack of amenities in the double room for disabled people. Nowhere to hang bathroom robes or wash bags and for a non-disabled person the wash basin was extremely low, small and difficult as an older person to use. "

"As always, this hotel is a little dated, and the bathroom sinks are too small to be practical. It needs some TLC. There was a leak from the upstairs room on the day of leaving, but, saying that, everyone can have a bad day. I will continue to stay here; it's the first time I have had any issues, and the staff are always friendly, attentive and always willing to help."

"We arrived to find we had been booked into double rooms with a double bed but had requested twin beds as we were a group of six elderly men! The reception staff went out of their way to accommodate us with this request, giving us alternative rooms. W also had a great breakfast here. The reception staff were professional, welcoming and went out of their way to facilitate our needs. "
