"This property is amazing! It is about a 30 min walk from the "main strip" of Sorrento, but it easily done. You do have to get used to walking on the road with cars/buses going by, but we never once had a close call--no one wants to hit a pedestrian! If you don't want to walk, the bus station is an easy 2 minute walk from the hotel--upon check in, the staff gives you a wonderful map and clear instructions how to get to everything, how to get to the bus, the ruins, the grocery store. "Hotel was immaculately clean. Very pleased with the room. Fantastic pool area and the shuttle bus was invaluable. Only booked bed and breakfast and Breakfast was good although most people suggested that the food was average. Sorrento is a wonderful holiday resort with so many nice restaurants. Recommend booking the classic trips to Amalfi coast and Capri from the hotel. Good value and pick ups and drop offs at the hotel."

"As are many smaller properties in Italy, stairs are required and in this case approximately 50 to get to the floor with the room . The desk personnel offered to have someone carry our bags but we foolishly declined. If anyone over 70 is making use of the facility, let them carry your bags. Breakfast was provided and Delicious as were the two restaurants associated with the property."

"Overall great stay. They offer a shuttle bus on the hour every hour to take you from the hotel to the city center, very convenient. The property is a little outdated but very clean and the staff were very helpful. Only negatives, the in house bar and restaurant are a little pricey and the pool hours are limited during the day and closes before dinner."

"The hotel staff is excellent. Breakfast includes a cool machine that makes 2 pancakes at a time just by pushing a button. Fun to watch them go down the conveyor belt and drop on your plate perfectly cooked. Great sea view from our balcony. My slightly negative comments would be that there was no tissues in the room and no fan in the bathroom. I would definitely visit again."

"Villa Gallone is absolutely beautiful and so are the surrounding grounds. However, our group had some difficulty with promptness of staff getting back to us about questions about villa. There was also a security problem between the bathroom and the washroom where staff has access to 24/7 and no lock on door/broken door. We asked them to fix it and it was not done. "We loved, loved, loved our stay at Villa Rufola. Our hosts, Adriana and Attilio were extremely welcoming and warm. They were also very generous with their time, advice and running us into town. The villa is on the terrace grounds of the main house and all is beautifully situated up in the peninsula about 2km out of town. The breakfasts on the terrace came with plenty of great views and great food and coffee. Highly recommended. "
