"Hotel is super near the train station so that makes it convenient for train travellers. It’s also very walkable to the old town where there’re lots of dining options. The rooms are really big and there was a king sized bed in our room which is quite rare in Europe. The only gripe we had was that the water from the shower (which was in the bathtub) splashes out quite a bit onto the bathroom floor, and the wet bathroom floor gets really slippery once wet. "The building is 100 years old and a bit of a time capsule. The location is fantastic if you arrive by train at Coimbra-A as it's a 3 minute walk away. "The apartment was spacious, nicely decorated, with a nice upper pato. Windows/doors overlook street where there were sometimes Fada singers, or other musicians - a nice bonus! "Loved the quaint Casa da Roda. The property is in need of new carpet and paint in the common areas. But the room was nice and clean and quiet. The refrigerator didn’t work (it was plugged in but the one lonely beer and one juice in it were warm and sad). The breakfast was great! Didn’t get to enjoy the indoor pool because they charge extra for it (surprising). Only the outdoor pool was included. I would think they would include the main indoor facilities and just charge for treatments like most...
