"Stayed in the Winander Club, room 888 which was excellent. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we had our own reception area which was quick. Our room as on the top floor with only one other room. We had a really comfortable bed, bath in main room, good. Size bathroom with nice products and complimentary sweets. But by far the best selling point is the room balcony with amazing views of lake Windermere. Nothing better than...

The staff are outstanding here from Ash at reception to Manuel in the dining room and Hannah in the spa. The many lounge areas are lovely and very tastefully decorated. "I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

"Nice hotel but room was a little tired and dated. Traditional decor. Room was very small and bed was not particularly comfortable. Annoyingly I could hear the guest in the room next door who made a few phone calls, the noise insulation between the rooms was very poor. Breakfast was good though with a decent choice of items."

"this is our 4th stay at Rothay and it remains one of our favourites in the lakes. in winter it’s great to cosy up after a long walk in the garden spa, and the rooms and ambience is really comfortable without any pretentious swagger for which some of the other hotels in the area would charge you £100 per night more. breakfast is good quality and staff are friendly and efficient "
