"Having spent years staying in National chain hotels this pub was exceptional & a breath of fresh air. Friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed & clean on suite rooms. Breakfast was probably the best freshly cooked that I've ever had. 5* for me. I would definitely recommend."

"Stayed here at the reef lodge for a weekend break in Newquay. Greeted at reception, to book in and show us our room. Very friendly and chatty, made us feel welcome. Even though due to illness the reception was unattended with the times stated, but there was an apology notice which had a contact number on which we could ring or message if we had a problem or issue. "Stayed with my friend, impressions are mixed. The room was clean, but the furniture is a bit worn out. Good location — a bus stop and shops are nearby, which is very convenient. The staff were polite, but the service could be more proactive. It's fine for a budget trip, but there’s no wow-factor."

"Agnes is so welcoming and a ray of sunshine! The breakfast is a very high standard, your bedroom will be furnished beautifully and the beds are comfy. Located close to the center and free parking. The hosts will go out of there way to explain the attractions near by. Highly recommended and will be back, has made our visit to cornwall very enjoyable. "
