"An old farm house, located directly on a crossroads, with views over the countryside. The room was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. It was more a guest house than a B&B, with the main rooms, including the kitchen, available to everyone. Guests avail themselves of supplies and facilities to make their own breakfast. "The staff, the food at both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Parking is just across a quiet road. Our room however left us literally cold. Old building, 'wavy' floors, single glazed casement windows facing the prevailing - brisk - wind and an outside temperature of close to freezing. Then the heating gets switched off for the night ! Considering that this was the most expensive 'one nighter' on our recent trip, we were less than satisfied."

Milk in fridge. 8 minutes drive to Beamish museum. 4 minutes drive to a really good play park and splash area, by the river. Comfy beds and bedding. The accommodation was really clean. "We found the property clean but lacking, certainly not "Superb". The decor was sparse e.g. bare light bulbs. Negatives Bathroom: no mirror, no towel rails, only one hand towel in the property for three. Kitchen: Two sets of knives & forks for three, no large glasses or wine glasses, no fire blanket/extinguisher, no downstairs smoke alarm I could spot. Small bedroom: no hanging space, one plug socket (used by lamp), only one half of a pair of curtains. Large bedroom: two hangers on a...
