The proximity to Cooperstown worked very well for us, as did the ability to fish right across the street from the property - my son and I spent a good deal of time casting from the docks. "Hotel staff was great. They gave us sleds to use on the hills next to the hotel. Hotel could use some updates but it was clean. The breakfast was great but the staff that took care of replenishing the breakfast and keeping things clean went above and beyond. He was up wiping tables constantly and making sure everything was clean and organized at the buffet, he even offered to make my son a special breakfast the following day but we were leaving. Very impressed! "

"I'm glad that the listing no longer includes breakfast in the amenities list, because there is none. Owner did make some good restaurant recommendations when asked. A surprising lacking amenity was shampoo/conditioner, so take your own -- this is a budget hotel, quaint (decked out for the season) and sufficient.
