"I was worried about how far it would be to walk across the bridge (traveled without a car) and it really is only about a ten-minute walk to old town st. Augustine. I traveled alone and felt very safe. There were many restaurants close by, though I never tried any of them. I also walked to the lighthouse which was maybe 20 minutes. I actually loved crossing the bridge every day and returning to the hotel, it was a nice closure, with the lions, the threshold guardians protecting my way. The staff was kind and supportive. My room was clean and I had everything I needed, though i could have used more closet space (no closet really, just a hanging rod pretty short). but that certainly did not detract. Also the air-conditioning was excellent! A great experience for a less expensive hotel, I highly recommend!"
