"The ryokan is a distance away from the station and some section of path to it is unlit, becareful when coming in winter where the sun sets earlier. Most stores also closes by 5:30pm so take note. That said, the staff are really friendly and accomodating, one of the staff, Sato, reached out to guide me on what to do and set the private onsen timings weeks before, great service throughout. The breakfast is also really good! I really enjoyed my stay!"

"My husband and I had an incredible time visiting such a special place as a part of our honeymoon. The food is the best food we have ever been served at a ryokan. The chef is so incredible at creating unique and innovative kaiseki by bringing in flavors outside of those found in traditional Japanese set dinners. Eating at Bettei Itsuki transformed and redefined what we thought kaiseki could be. Additionally, the staff here truly go above and beyond to make your stay incredible. We were met with kindness for everything and truly felt taken care of during our stay. Irina was an incredible hostess during our meals, and every member of the staff was so professional. "

"Lovely accommodation. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious and the half board food was mostly fantastic. We opted for a private room so we had our own onsen. This was our first and only onsen experience so I can't really make any comparisons but it was seriously fantastic. Nice and hot, very private and clean. Loved it. Location was a bit of a trek from the train station but worth it - the walk is enjoyable and you can easily cut through along the river once you're checked in to reach the main strip of the town a bit quicker which is also a great walk."

"Comfortable stay at Baien resort and walking distance 10 mins to the lake and shopping trip. Took a taxi from Yufuin station and cost JPY800. We enjoyed our stroll and admiring the autum foliage while walking out to the lake. It has 2 nice private onsens and 1 separate public onsen for male and female. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, staff are friendly. Recommended and enjoyable stay. "
