Overall, the neighborhood is very safe but unattractive: EPFL is not a campus notable for its grade, and the hotel has some sort of muddy field behind it (but with a path you can follow to walk on the side of the lake, which I recommend). The place is extremely clean, but a little age is showing and low cost improvements. I am sure this is out of season and hotel is in a maintenance mode so the restaurant was closed. "
