"We picked this hotel to stay at while visiting Matsumoto because it was budget friendly and we were headed farther south to our next stop and I think it was a good pick except that the closest train was nearly a mile walk. Otherwise, the public bath, free buffet breakfast, eco-consciousness, and friendly staff made this stay great! As westerners we are used to a bit more space so the bathroom felt a little constricting but there was actually some closet space which we didn't have in some of our other smaller Japan lodging spots! "We are the repeaters. This the rare co-ed onsen which allows you to go in with your friends and family. The onsen was filled with milky warm water so that you can stay in long hours and enjoy other people's company. Very relaxing environment surrounded by mountains. The food was omakase and very good. We enjoyed all of the local cuisine items with great beer and sake. "
