I am not present but Sergio who lives in front of the house will greet you, and will be attentive to anything you need.
The community of Xul-Ha is located at the southern end of Laguna Bacalar, from this situation derives its name in Mayan language, which means “End of the water”.
In the village you will find Mexican food places like “Los Charales” just two blocks away from our space.

About 15km away bonaza
- The rapids: paradise of incredible shades of blue, the narrowest part of the Bacalar Lagoon that seems to be from another world. In this area the water has a current that moves from north to south, take your precautions in this area, the speed of the current varies according to the season. It is a beach resort with restaurant service, it has beach furniture: hammocks inside and outside the water, lounge chairs, beds, etc. The water is totally transparent, with different shades of blue.
- Chetumal: the largest boulevard on the peninsula is here, with a variety of restaurants and events. The active nightlife is a feature that makes this city famous. It has shopping malls, hospitals, banks and supplies the southern zone with other services.
- Bacalar: the magical town of the south, here you will be able to take a tour of the entire lagoon. Being totally inclined to tourism, it has many restaurants, bars, beach club, continuous activities in the center of town, artistic and cultural events, sale of handicrafts and typical food of the region.
- Archaeological sites of Dzibanché, Kohunlich and Oxtankah
- Free Zone: duty free area between Mexico and Belize, merchants from all over the world exhibit their merchandise, products from all over the world, original brands at affordable prices, casinos with restaurants and night clubs.
Xul-ha is located 20 minutes from the city of Chetumal and 18 minutes from Bacalar, transportation is fluid and although there is no bus station or airport, getting here is very easy.
By plane
Chetumal International Airport: Chetumal airport is only 20 minutes away from Xul-ha, leaving the airport there are cab drivers that will take you there at affordable prices.
Cancun International Airport: If you arrive in Cancun, from the airport you can take buses to the ADO bus terminal. Once at the terminal you can choose an exit to Chetumal or Bacalar, (both are the same distance from Xul-ha) the trips are continuous so you will have no problem finding an exit that fits your itinerary.
Cabs and colectivos
From Chetumal to Bacalar the flow of colectivos and cabs is continuous, Xul-ha benefits from being in the middle of these two places facilitating mobility in the south of the state. The wait for a cab to these places is short.
A cash deposit must be paid upon arrival and is returned upon departure. This varies depending on the number of nights you stay.
For stays of up to 15 days it is $1,000. For stays of 16 days to 29 days it is $3,000 and for stays of 30 days or more it is one month's rent.
