Don’t stay here as a tourist!
The hotel itself is fine. Clean and modern rooms and comfortable. The location is terrible though. If you’re visiting Xi’an as a tourist this is the worst choice for location. Also we picked the Ibis thinking that they may cater to western tourists. This was not the case and the service was just the worst.
The staff speak zero English. So they were completely unable to help us with anything. We really wanted to see the terracotta warriors, or course they couldn’t help, they couldn’t even understand when we wanted to order a black coffee with breakfast. It’s not that they were rude, they were kind but just incapable of understanding us.
The most infuriating part was the hotel does not give any change for cash transactions! Which is ridiculous since we’re tourists so we don’t have WeChat pay. We had to pay for breakfast and a coffee and this was made into a huge problem.
The final straw was the fact that they couldn’t even order us a taxi to the train station. They suggested that we use a app. An app we obviously don’t have since we’re touristss. Our whole experience was terrible here.
