"The check in was fabulous and we had a lovely room (Room 1) that actually has a kettle! We had a terrace with views of Xativa Castle and also the town and valley, all framed by pine and cypress trees. Deb had injured her knee so was able to sit on the terrace, read her book and chill as we watched the sunset. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and the breakfast was fabulous and we ate far too much delicious food. After breakfast I had a wander around the grounds. The views really were spectacular, especially with the early morning mist, and you could see sections of the town walls stretching from the valley up to the castle. We ate one dinner in the hotel as Deb had already perused the menu, although I was somewhat sceptical. There were weird things like sea urchin, pig's ear, lamb gizzards and duck liver but I opted for sea bass and Deb had rabbit lasagna. The food was just magnificent. Right from the bread and olive oil, with the type of oil and its characteristics being explained to the main course and desserts there was nothing I could improve upon. I had two desserts - a cheesecake and a hazelnut mousse and both were fabulous. We left feeling full but not bloated, a lovely way to round off Deb's birthday. Our room was fabulously quiet, service throughout the hotel was impeccable, the room had modern heating/cooling if needed and a modern bathroom. "Enjoyed a 5 day this smart modern hotel; staff very helpful and efficient in lobby and in the large buffet dining room. Very clean rooms and super comfortable beds gave a good rest & aircon was good. There’s ample street parking just outside (€12/night garage parking offered seemed excessive, especially for a motorbike, but neighbourhood seemed safe enough so we went with the roadside ) as well as a bus stop opposite. But we found it easy to walk everywhere in Gandia from here. The mini fridge was appreciated for keeping water chilled in our room. "
