"What a find - a hotel in a working convent that used to be a palace! Breakfast nice, dinner excellent. Good choice of wines and beer. Room spotlessly clean, nice size. Grounds beautifully kept. Lovely long walking trails in the woods behind the convent. Plenty of safe parking. Very tranquil, absolutely top class, and at a very fair price. This is the second time I have stayed there, and will do so again. "

"Windstein is a beautiful quiet village and so many of the villages around there were very pretty. The gite was spotless, it has a very small kitchen but the lounge and the bedrooms are fine, we also loved playing pool. On arrival we found the whole gite smelt very overpowering of drains, when we asked Lucienne we were told it was drains due to the heavy rain however it was there for our full 5 days and completely ruined our stay, if it was a hotel you would leave or at least change rooms but we were stuck. In addition to this the owners house is attached with a first floor door into your gite and the garden that is for your use is actually her garden and across the other side of the drive and in front of the main house, whilst she said we could use it with our dog we didn’t feel comfortable doing so. Had we known about both of these factors we wouldn’t have booked the property and we definitely wouldn’t return."
