"This is an old building, so think quirky shaped rooms and features, not boring square boxes. That doesn't mean that it is dated inside though, it has been decorated to a high standard, and is spotlessly clean and tidy, and tastefully furnished. Our room was bigger than we expected, with loads of space even though the (very comfortable) bed was huge. There are all the facilities that you might expect, such as tea, coffee, biscuits, fridge, room safe etc, but what was lovely was that there wasn't...

"It was in a lovely location, must be stunning in the summer. Breakfast was amazing! Allowed two dogs which was great. Only negative is our room was above the bar and Friday night was very noisy until the early hours, and no hairdryer in room. "

"A great welcome, very friendly, lovely, comfy, spacious room. Mouth watering meals and great choice of drinks. Although we had a lovely Valentine meal, we were in the public bar, next to the bar which was a bit noisy, table in the restaurant would have been preferred for a bit more privacy. Still we had a wonderful stay."

Room was excellent, nice bed and bed linen, extremely clean and warm - provided everything you might need in way of tea/coffee making facilities and fridge. Excellent TV with all the stations. Stay included breakfast, we only had the continental as had an early departure but hot breakfast was also available. Would highly recommend."

"Nice comfortable room with adequate facilities in room. Not a lover of toilet brushes and the one in the bathroom was sitting in goodness knows what and noticed it as soon as entered the bathroom as the holder was clear - not nice. No tv remote in room and to be fair we didn’t request one during the stay as we got back late and didn’t notice until ready for bed and would have had to walk into the bar area! "

Fabulous place for a weekend with friends

"Middle Stolford is a beautiful house in a wonderful setting, immaculate inside and wonderful attention to detail - particularly the towels, robes and blankets provided for use in the hot tub and outside areas. The hosts were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would definately recommend!"

Balcony door problem

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & all was excellent but balcony doors jammed leaving small gap with guest having to get back in lounge through window . Contacted help which meant young man arrived promptly & managed to close door but this prevented the use of the balcony during our stay. Single bed duvet rather thick & heavy, otherwise all good."
