"We try to stay here whenever we're in Saffron Walden, visiting family. We are very pleased with the property and the helpfulness of the owner and housekeeper. My only word of caution to prospective guests is that the narrow, winding staircase is not suitable for people with mobility issues, but that would be my only real reservation."

"The property is basically a garden shed with basic amenities. There were stains on the floor and walls, only one knife one spoke one fork and one teaspoon and the cups, plates hadn’t been washed and were sticky, plus there were no bowls just plates! On the first night I complained about the smell in the flat which didn’t really get sorted and the next morning we had our first showers in the room. This was a huge problem as it only had hot water for 20 seconds; we were just so disappointed. After...

"I didn't receive any instructions for self check in until I called the letting agent. The property is dark and dingy. It smelled damp and was cluttered with unnecessary furniture (large sofa foot stool, 4 armchairs, 4chairs, fridge freezer & non working fridge, for a double room). The decor is very worn with signs of damage. The carpets are stained. The external area was very overgrown with weeds. The TV remote didn't work and there was no TV ariel connected. The setting is rural, surrounded by fields and copses, just over a mile down a narrow single track lane. Very quiet, apart from the sound of planes on the flight path into Stansted airport 15 miles or more away, which didn't really bother us in October (though for a couple of nights bizarre acoustics did make a couple staying next door in the farmhouse sound...

"There were 16 of us for a family weekend. The house is fabulous, very comfortable with lots of different spaces. The gardens are lovely and the tennis court was a real hit worth all the family. Communicating with the hosts was was simple. Would recommend."

"The apartment was very tired, the kitchen tap was out of position and was dripping, the bathroom sink was blocked, Coat hanger was off the wall. Only found instructions to download inside cupboard door as we left on how to operate appliances. No broom provided to clean terrace, chairs full of blossom. Very minimal provision of kitchen equipment. The location and ease of getting into Cambridge was very good, did not use catering, but nearby Sainsburys was a very useful. Receptionist very helpful....
