"Easy checking in but only from 2pm to 6pm. Very comfy bed, warm room, tea and coffee facilities. Powerful shower. Handy location very close to train station. Pay and display car park behind pub however can only park from 2pm to 5am and then need to leave for an hr before return. Unfortunately room smelled of cigarette smoke. I’m not sure if people in room next door had been smoking and it was coming through bathroom vent or if there had been smoking in the room. Also there were hairs in the...

"Room was excellent. En-suite was fantastic. Very clean and good stay. It is a public house and music finishing at midnight all good for us on first night but music being slightly turned down and finishing between 3 and 4am not so considerate for guests."

"We had a lovely stay. The hosts were welcoming and friendly - they clearly enjoy and take pride in their job. The room was clean, comfortable and well stocked with amenities (after a long day the hot chocolate was well needed!). Breakfast in the morning was excellent quality."

"Very friendly place, very busy in bar area but accommodation separate (& quiet 😊👍)… enjoyed looking round the bar area after breakfast next day, lots of interesting items/photos etc and nice to be away from the ‘corporate’ feel that most hotels seem to have these days. I’m sure we’ll be back."

"Birds farm is a lovely place to stay for the local Essex or Sussex area. Very quiet in the evenings, despite being just off a busy road. Great facilities, good comfy beds, very warm heating and well supplied cooking facilities. A pool for summer, grounds and a Summer house and a well stocked games room for kids if the weather is bad.
