There were stains on the floor and walls, only one knife one spoke one fork and one teaspoon and the cups, plates hadn’t been washed and were sticky, plus there were no bowls just plates! On the first night I complained about the smell in the flat which didn’t really get sorted and the next morning we had our first showers in the room. "Drake Cottage is a delightful place to stay. It’s (really) old and beautifully renovated with lots of great touches for guests. It’s very close to the centre of Saffron Walden but quiet.would love to come back. "

"A short relaxing break. Barn was well equipped and comfortable. Weather was a bit disappointing so never got to sit outside on the smart patio. The grounds exceeded our expectations and enjoyed the private space. "

"I didn't receive any instructions for self check in until I called the letting agent. The property is dark and dingy. It smelled damp and was cluttered with unnecessary furniture (large sofa foot stool, 4 armchairs, 4chairs, fridge freezer & non working fridge, for a double room). The decor is very worn with signs of damage. The carpets are stained. The external area was very overgrown with weeds. The TV remote didn't work and there was no TV ariel connected. "Great farm house, had a lovely feel and great accommodation. Would definitely recommend the house."

"Really nice cottage style property with a log burner and really comfy beds. Only warning would be the stairs as they're pretty steep and the bathroom is downstairs if you need to get up in the middle of the night."
