Our cozy cabin provides the perfect overnight, weekend or week long vacation retreat. Located within the gates of the Lake Almanor Country Club, and just minutes from the beach/recreation area. Enjoy the deck overlooking the woods or relax indoors. With three bedrooms and a loft, there is plenty of space for a family/group of 8. A small market and restaurants are located right outside the country club gates. A beautiful 9 hole golf course is located inside the country club and the amazing Bailey Creek 18 he golf course is located right outside the gates. There are two recreation areas with beaches and boat launches. Rec 1 offers evening entertainment during most nights in the summer including movie nights, bands/dancing and karaoke as well at tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball, horseshoes and BBQ/picnic areas.
In an effort to ensure that our cabin is a good fit for you, we want to share all of the information/cabin “rules" upfront. Check-in is at 4:00pm and check-out is at 10:00am. When you arrive, you will check in at the security station at the Clifford gate of the Lake Almanor Country Club. You will provide your name and let them know you are guests of ours. We will phone ahead to let them know you are coming. They will give you a security pass for the window of your car. If you plan to bring a boat, there is a $75/week fee. They do not offer a daily fee. They will collect the payment for your boat at the welcome/security station when you arrive. Please be aware that the security station is not open 24 hours/day. If by chance you arrive after the security station has closed, you can call the security guard and he/she will let you in (the phone number is posted on the window or door at the gate station). Please do not wear your shoes inside the cabin. This helps keep it clean and sanitary and keeps the dirt/dust down. The stairs (right inside the door) are a great place to sit down while you remove your shoes. There is a shelf near the stairs to put the shoes on. We do not guarantee Wi-Fi at the cabin (the service is often inconsistent/interrupted in this area). If it happens to go out and you need Wi-Fi, you can access free Wi-Fi at the coffee shop at the Peninsula Market or the tennis shop at Recreation Area 1. Most guests report that they have good cell service at the cabin. The heater is located under the window in the dining room. To adjust the temperature, open the little drop door on the front and push "temp", then the up/down button to your desired temperature, then press "set". Please do not press any other buttons. The cabin will get very warm if you leave it up too high - especially during the night. There is also a room/space heater in the master bedroom and a heating blanket on the master bed. When you check out, please turn the heater completely off. There is no air conditioning however there is a portable room air conditioner unit in the kitchen/dining room and there are fans in most of the rooms. To keep the cabin cool, we suggest opening the windows during the night and closing everything up mid morning (including the drapes). This helps to cool things down during the hot summer days. Check out procedures: Please take your trash with you. There is a trash dumping station near the A-12 & Hwy 36 cross roads. They charge approximately $7.50 for 6-8 bags of trash. Trash cannot be left outside due to all the mountain critters. Run dishes through the dishwasher and put the dishes away before leaving. Please wash a load of sheets or towels and start that load in the dryer before leaving. Please do not leave wet towels/bedding in the washer. There is a Holiday Market grocery store in Chester as well as a smaller market (the Lake Almanor Peninsula Market) near the country club. The Peninsula Market has a great deli and coffee shop. There is a great pizza parlor on the Peninsula and several good restaurant options in Chester. Please remember to eat/drink ONLY in the kitchen/dining area or outside on the deck. There is no food allowed in the living room and bedrooms. There is a propane BBQ available on the back deck. The BBQ has one large cooking surface and a side burner. Please turn the propane off after you are finished. We look forward to hosting you. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
