"Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise...

"Couldn’t have wished for a nicer stay. Perfect location to travel into London with frequent trains from Harpenden station. The room was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast was excellent with great choice and service. Highly recommend. "

"Lovely pub with fantastic food. Breakfast was just as good. Annex building with farm/field view. I travel a lot for my work but hate the giant corporate places. Your money is better spent in the community you’re working in. Definitely be going back. "

"Good stay at the Pear Tree Inn! Staff were great, calling me as I was arriving late and sending across a AVT invoice quickly (as there is no one there on checkout)! There is no hairdryer in the room - I didn’t realise this until the morning and there was no one downstairs to ask! "

"The Brocket Arms overnight stay was really good. The staff and locals were nice & chatty whilst sitting next to a large natural fire place eating lovely food and taking a well earned drink. Would of preferred a full breakfast instead of a continental one but all told, I found it a lovely and relaxing stay."

"The White Hart is a lovely country style pub with accommodation. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, the food was delicious and our room was comfy and warm. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We’d definitely stay there again."
