But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. "Gorgeous from the moment we arrived. Our dogs were fussed, the staff were so friendly. We enjoyed our cooked breakfast so much aswell. A really lovely location … will definitely be back! "

"Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Very comfortable bed and well presented room. The Inn itself was quiet and so lacked a little atmosphere but then it was mid-week. The food was excellent, I especially liked the salmon and the mushroom risotto was splendid. We would have eaten there again on the second night but the vegetarian options were limited. "The Red Lion was a lovely for me and my partner, we had an amazing stay. The staff at the pub were lovely, especially Aviva who was so friendly and helpful in the restaurant. I give four stars only because the price was a little unreasonable for the time of year (mid-November) when many local attractions are closed. Otherwise I could not recommend this place enough for a lovely weekend break. "
