"I stayed here for a night whilst traveling solo for the first time, though I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Everything was lovely and professional, as were the owners. I had the pleasure of speaking with each of them—they are truly the kindest souls, and gave very helpful recommendations concerning Edinburgh activities. My room was very comfortable; the bathroom was warm, which was very pleasant after a chilly day; and the neighborhood around the hotel is adorable and quiet if you prioritize beauty rest. I don’t really eat breakfast, but it is served everyday between 7:30 and 9:30AM if you need a pick-me-up. Truly a gem if you get to stay here after the business of Edinburgh’s center; and absolutely worth the price—I highly recommend! Transportation to and from the city center is easy both by bus or car."

"Feels like stepping back in time staying here. It was lovely and quiet and the grounds are beautiful. Dinner was fantastic.. we had mussels and filet. Both were very good! The tub was huge which is my favorite. A nice retreat from the bustle of Edinburgh, relaxing and romantic. We want to come back."

"First overnight stay at Carberry. We were kindly upgraded to a suite which was most impressive. Dinner in the Bistro was lovely. We asked for breaded fish rather than done in batter. No problem & it was extremely tasty. Relaxed atmosphere , friendly staff. A hidden gem."

"The deluxe room overlooking the golf course with opening patio doors was excellent and made our stay memorable. Leisure facilities such as swimming pool, steam room and sauna were good and the spa staff wonderful. On arrival, Bob on reception made us feel welcome and was brilliant. Dining in the restaurant in the evening was pleasant and with good menu options however breakfast service disorganised with being asked to wait while a table was made available which was annoying as never experienced this before at other hotels we have stayed at. The hotel is perfectly located for hiking and beautiful views so scenic. We couldnt fault any of the staff they were all wonderful and polite. We will certainly be visiting again as one of the best hotels we have stayed in. "
