"We were making a multi-day road trip around the Big Island and needed a place to stay after a couple of days in Volcanoes NP. We chose the Lava Bus because it was such a unique property. We were so happy we did! It is a bit of a drive to get to any services (around 20 minutes to gas/groceries) but it was an amazing location for seeing the stars at night and enjoying peace and quiet. It felt very remote, but at the same time the bus itself was so well-appointed that it felt somehow luxurious. The outdoor restroom was very clean and comfortable, the outdoor shower has plenty of hot water, and the interior of the bus is beautiful with lots of nice touches. We cooked our dinner in the kitchenette and played some chess and generally had a very peaceful, special experience. Thank you Kristen for hosting!"

"We wanted to be close to South Point and the green sand beach for a change his time on Hawaii, and this turned out to be the ideal staging location for seeing sights on the south side of the island. The listing was exactly as described, spotless clean, well appointed, and the owner provided a number of complimentary products. We felt like it could be our home. We would definitely book again if we wanted a location on the south side of the island!"

"Great stay for exploring the southern part of Big Island. Our family loved the pool, well equipped kitchen, and location. I would definitely recommend staying here. Look in to booking through the rental agency as they do not complete anything in VRBO. This was the only downside as all the instructions and check in information was not easily found in the app and was emailed through a different address."

The property has an isolated feel and is very private, but it is easily accessed, and centrally located as a jumping off point to many of the island's attractions. Views from the studio are amazing, and the property is clean and well-kept."
