"We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. A well equipped house and the fresh water pool was a delight. The views are lovely. Arie was a great host (don't forget to ask for directions). A great getaway location with easy access (30 mins by car) to Beaches, Porto, Amarante, River Duoro etc. There is much to do in the area: sight seeing, walking, riding bikes, train ride, swimming in the sea and rivers. Everyone we came across was very friendly. We'd love to come back!"

"My family and I had a wonderful 2 week holiday in Casa De Mata. We love the peace and tranquility of the environment. The house and garden had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Jose could not have been more friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this property if relaxing and spending time together as a family is what you want from a holiday."

"Lovely spacious villa with plenty of room for 10-12 people, and lots of dining and sitting space inside, and outdoor space. It was very warm during our stay, and as the villa doesn't have air conditioning it did get warm inside. Some more fans would be useful, as opening windows does increase outside noise. "We stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful old house, view of water below was so lovely. Enjoyed the pool but it was a little late in the year so it was just a little cold for us at our age. We still did get into it twice. Kitchen had all the pots and utensils we needed. We would love to stay here again when in Portugal."

"Good apartment with secure parking, microwave and 2 ring hob. Nearest supermarket 15 mins but try the roadside barbequed chicken lady and bakery in the village. Proprietor loaned us some scales as I was close to my 20kg allowance. A couple more pillows would be a bonus."

"A little tropical paradise. Perfect setting next to the water and total seclusion at bottom of valley. There was no-one staying in the second property by the water but don't think it would have changed our opinion. Accommodation was more than adequate and the outdoor kitchen area had everything you'd need. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and the son was our readily available interpreter. "Great location. If you want to walk, this is the place to do it. Beautiful and historic. Very clean but bed very uncomfortable. We also had little or no service during our 8 night stay. We had to find clean sheets and towels midway through our stay and change our on linens. If you don’t mind doing this, you’ll be okay. If you want service during your stay this place won’t make you happy. But again, locates phenomenal!"
