"Casa de Don Moncho refused to allow us to check in because our bus from Managua arrived late. They left us stranded late at night without a room. I've lodged a complaint with INGUAT (the Guatemalan tourism department) and learned that this hotel IS NOT A LICENSED HOTEL and DOES NOT HAVE THE PERMITS TO OPERATE AS A HOTEL IN ANTIGUA. Now the hotel is keeping my money instead of reimbursing me for the 14 nights they denied me. Tip- there are LOTS of hotels in Antigua, find another one."

"David and his team: Michelle, Henderson, Luis were hospitable and gracious hosts. The property is a similar to an extended stay type of accommodations with mini apartment features: full kitchen, washer, wifi, etc. Quaint location with local living feel. "The property was absolutely beautiful. Availability was great, the only thing that I will remark on is that there is not a pool in the hotel or any other surrounding hotels. I went searching for an outdoor pool and could not find one in the area of Cayala. That is the only thing I would recommend. Any pool that could be shared by that hotel and others would be great. Not the AC hotel's fault, will always choose this hotel line. "

"Our stay was excellent; from the minute we arrived we were greeted by the staff. The location was prefect options of stores, shopping centers and restaurants. The breakfast is buffet providing Guatemalan typical food. The only criticism this Saturday morning the breakfast buffet was moved to the patio area and due to the openness; fumes of the near by vehicles permitted the area. "
