"The AC never got cold even on the lowest setting. On the main area there was a strong smell, like garbage and it was there for over a day even though they came to clean the room, no one bothered to empty the trash, the smell was so bad it came into our room. The hotel is in a good area, we felt safe but far from the touristy area and the walk to the train station was long, it was hard to get UBER there so we had to walk several times. "

I wish I had taken more notice of the number of external photographs against interior shots as the only redeeming feature of this place is the outside area. The house itself is of a very low standard. Everything feels old. Not rustic, not traditional, not authentic, OLD! "Hotel is not much to look at but when you enter the lobby is very nice. The welcome and the staff were great. Check in and out was easy. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. The carpet in hallways was worn but room clean and beds comfortable. Definitely needs a facelift but overall a good 2 day stay. Not bad to travel to barcelos and porto. Would recommend. "
