Although it is small and compact, it didn't feel claustrophobic. The kitchen has the latest appliances and well stocked with cutlery, cooking utensils, food storage containers, and much more. There is a portable and powerful air-conditioner. It has a stackable washer and dryer and a cordless vacuum cleaner. The cottage is self contained and doesn't really require interaction with people one would normally needed to interact with in a hotel and a motel. The cottage itself was built behind a new home on a quiet street. Outside of chatting with the parents of a neighbor, I didn't see or interact with anyone as I went to and back from visiting relatives and a little sight-seeing an area of Saanich I have not been. I would greatly recommend this as an affordable alternative to the expensive hotel and motel rooms in downtown Victoria.
