We booked this for a weekend, and weren't looking for luxury. It seemed affordable for BC, and like it would have the basics we needed. We were wrong. To start - the pics are not of the actual unit. What we got was 1 room in the basement, with a small bathroom attached. There was a piece of furniture blocking a door that was covered up with styrofoam taped to the wall. There was no hair dryer, tea pot, mini fridge, etc, not even a glass for water. Apparently we would have had to go upstairs to the main house to ask for any basic amenities. The bed was not comfortable, and had only 2 flimsy, flat pillows. It was also SO LOUD. You could hear everything the many people apparently living/staying upstairs were doing - using the bathroom, talking, laundry, turning the water pipes on and off and on and off - starting at about 6am each day. It was pretty hot down there, and loud, so we asked for a fan, and were told the only fan there was being used by a family with kids, so what we should do was leave our door open to the backyard for a breeze, bc there isn't much crime in that neighborhood. Seriously!! Thats what they said! There was no screen door even, but to just leave the door open to bugs and murderers? Also it was abundantly clear that the "host" was not on the property - we had to speak to 3 different people through the app and cell phone numbers to communicate. Pros: the room itself was clean enough, & close to Richmond night market. Cons: everything else.
